Need a little help?
You need a little help or tips on how to use the attac community?
The timeline
The timeline shows everything your friends are doing in this community. Whenever someone you follow creates any kind of content or posts a comment it will appear in the timeline. You can add your own comment on items in the timeline. Simply write your comment in the text field underneath and click on "submit".
Status updates
Status updates are short messages you can use to share links to interesting articles or invite your friends to collaborate with you on a wiki page. Simply enter your message, paste your links and click "share".
Attach a link
If you want to share a link with a description your can click on the "link" icon in the bottom left corner of the text area. A small window will pop up that enter the URL. Once you've clicked on "attach" you can add your description and select a thumbnail.
@Reply to others
You can start a conversation with other people on the network by typingng @username in the status update text area (replace "username" with the name of the user you want to reply to). For an example my username is moreonion, so if you want to send me a reply you have to type @moreonion followed by your message.
Share a status update
You can share a status update by clicking on the little "share" button at the bottom right of the status update. If you "share" another person's status update it will appear in your updates so that your followers can see it, but mentioning the original author at the same time.
Delete and edit your status updates
You can delete your own status updates by clicking on the little X at the top right corner of your update. This works the same way for timeline items and comments. If you click "edit" you can change your updates after you've posted them. This way you can correct typos or fix a broken link you've added accidentally.
#Hashtags
You can add tags(keywords) to your status updates. For an example if your message is about the G8 protest you can add #G8 to your status update. Any word starting with the hash-key (#) will automatically turn into a link. If you click on the link you can see all status updates using the tag.
Blogposts
A blogpost can be an article, a rather long comment on a current event or just some content you want to share in the community. You can create a blogpost by visiting your profile or the "Home" page. In either case you have to click on the "Blogposts" tab and then click on "Add new blogpost".
The form will guide you through the process of creating your first blogpost. You can upload an image along with your blogpost that will be resized and cropped automatically. If you want to add more images to your blogpost you can upload them elsewhere and add them in the text area by clicking on the image link in the editor.
Wiki pages
Wiki pages can be used to collaboratively work on a text. This could be the notes of a meeting, a longer publication or just a page that needs to be updated by multiple users. To see who changed what on a wiki page you can use the select box in the sidebar. Simply click on it and choose the version you would like to see. This way you can keep track of what's happening with a wiki page.
